Private Education
But, if we are to really help these kids who have difficulty in school, there is personal or home – given education where students can be taught off school and will have that ease and comfort that isn’t usually found in a classroom filled with bunches of kids. The social pressure can be quite disappointing and depressing. But, in France, they have this remarkable personal home education in any point in France which include cours particuliers à Lyon, cours particuliers à Lille, and some cours particuliers à Marseille.
School can be tough, but we can always intervene some good help.

Teaching Requirements Needed
So, I am getting all stressed out since tomorrow will be the deadline to submit requirements for teaching next school year. I have to dig into my dusty closet again for those elusive docs. Sigh!
I just have to prioritize what must be done first so not to get all cranky and disillusional. LOL! Some good lucks to me.

Education Helps
This has been an annual problem but the government and us simply pay a little attention on how to counter address the issues and simply chose to be passive. We have months to prepare for El Nino but we simply rely things as they come.
So, we endure and continuously endure the wrath of nature and our ignorance. Our national news oftentimes report a number of cases of fire and cases of heat strokes. And in spite all these warnings, some of us remain less vigilant.
Funny though that we seem to be more conscious of schedule brownouts, celebrity gossips and lottery than other things. Don't you know that education like energy auditor certification can help you save money and be more attentive of health and disaster issues?
If only people are more educated, I guess much of social, environmental and domestic issues can be better prevented or corrected.

Disliking History Says You Are Unpredictable |
![]() You are unpredictable, unusual, and challenging. For you, history is too irrelevant and set in stone. You rather look toward the future. You don't like to commit to anything. Another Sample Applet and Graphics
I however, found this simple code on applet and some graphics methods. The code makes use getImage() and drawImage() to display needed image file on the page. Do check. This will only run through an applet viewer or an html page to launch the applet-embedded java program.

Personally Driving to School
I guess I am just afraid to hit and be hit. LOL! Although, I am all covered up with insurance, I just don’t want to take the risk. It really pays if insurances are there to cover your life and your property. I am pretty sure there is a free auto insurance quote that anyone can use and check for benefits and policy coverage.
I still prefer though, to use a four – wheel vehicle than the motorbike. Problem is, I always find our Lite Ace family van too long to be driven. Tsk!Tsk! Tsk! I think, I know what my problem is, I am simply afraid to hit the road before a steering wheel. I am really beyond redemption.
Graduates on Job Hunt
I only hope that the government will seriously consider all mechanisms and opportunities that will create employment for everyone and that serious evaluation and correction must be done on the quality of education systems so that regardless of school, the disparity among graduates’ skills will be negligible.
With all the problems I have cited about my country, I have only one conclusion to make, this nation is totally deep in its sickness that it requires more of a miracle for it to have a 180 degree change. Do we still have a chance? I really hope so.

Summer Classes are Up!
If my counting is correct, the students are now having their midterm topics and will soon commence in two weeks. Soon, May will be filled with enrolment dates for the new school year.
Although, I don’t have my regular pay, but it is nice to be all recharged for another semester of long and dragging teaching works. LOL!
Passion for Reading
Somehow, my way of relaxation is oftentimes described by the number of hours I consume reading. Time seems to flow faster for me when I am all engrossed in reading. I guess this is the very reason too, why my vision is strained complemented with the fact that I also spend so much time with my computer until wee hours in the morning, blogging and teaching. I had my eye glasses before but I normally find them as a restriction rather than help. LOL!
But, with my age and unrelinquished passion, I shall be needing new updated glasses. I heard there are discount prescription glasses that I can consider. They have to both quality and comfy for me to really love them.
I only hope my kid would also be inclined to read. I guess with reading, your berth of knowledge can be as far as you can imagine it.
Leveraging Voters through Black Propaganda
Thus, instead of paying attention to their platforms, they dwell on conceiving ways how to pull other politicians down. And, mostly the playing field is among the top contenders. All sorts of communication have been used just to proliferate their agenda. And if voters are not smart at all, they can all be swayed to believe the other contender. All these schemes only depict one thing, CHARACTER is not really a significant value among these politicians. If I have to tell voters, they choose those who exhibit an exemplarary moral aptitude and service performance. Otherwise, grand educational qualifications and work experiences don’t mean a thing when leaders only value their individual interests. Regretfully, this upcoming election will pay less significance in achieving real change. This goes without saying, that this election is really up to its sensible and smart voters.

Programming Again for Me?
I really don’t qualify myself as a programmer perhaps I can only blame my years of experience in teaching and administration that was kept from writing codes. Gone now are the programming languages that I was familiar with. Geez, Foxpro, Turbo Pascal and C are now forgotten although C is replaced with higher levels that include Java in the forefront.
I did have serious programming when I attended my masters in IT but as soon as I stopped schooling, I am back to forgetting them. My age seems to remind my brain that programming is too much of a headache already. LOL!
Now, with business and technical writing, I can only envision myself of developing these skills instead of enriching my old skills. Hmnn, I think managing programmers will be better. LOL!

Computer Literate Teachers to Assist on Election Day
Election day for most teachers and personnel is an opportunity for extra compensation. My kin and friends previously served the other elections and were given at least 3000.00PHP as compensation. But, the last time I talked with my college classmate who teaches now in a public school, he mentioned that the number of teachers who will serve this upcoming election is cut almost a half since the operation will be automated. High regard is given to those computer literate teachers to man the election day. I quite believe COMELEC had given them due trainings to make sure that the election process shall succeed as expected.
With the extra compensation, teachers and COMELEC aides will have enough to purchase any want or need they wish to have. If I shall have that extra salary, I shall most likely buy some flip flops, organic face cream and pamper myself in a spa center. LOL!
At least, with the automated election, the process will not be as tiring and draining as the old ones.
Getting Free E-books
Where to look exactly when there seems to be a number of e-book sites to work with? Somehow, blogs offer a more reliable link of where to really go to.
I normally check Scribd for practically anything that includes research works, novels and synopses for almost everything.
The thing with e-book download is to make sure that no copyright laws are broken. Even if internet laws are not openly or strictly enforced here in the Philippines, we have to however, subject ourselves to foreign policies on copyrights.
In blogging alone, I have friends whose articles were stolen and the experiences were not at all good. With the number of articles I have written over two years, I could not recall every post I made but it will be an irritating experience if I shall see my work copied without permission or due credit.
Thus, in as much as I love freebies, it pays to be respectful of other’s property.

Becoming Informed and Much Wiser Voter
It is 19 days now before the much – awaited national automated election will commence. I chose not to have myself relocated here in Gensan since my registration for the last election was held in Zamboanga City.
But, if I have to vote, it will be for people who I believe are morally upright and with education and experience to lead this nation hundreds of notches higher than its present state.
Unfortunately, from the last survey on the culture of Filipinos on our political leaders, conclusion says that we don’t really bother much with performance because majority is still swayed with popularity, and affiliations. Leaders are chosen not because they deserve the post but for blinded if not deceived reasons. Thus, election after election makes no difference at all in terms of making this country improved. Sadly, we keep convicted persons in positions, and we continue to vote for wrong persons.
I quite pray that voters for this election will not be swayed with advertisements, false promises or even bribery to get the bad guys stay or own office otherwise this nation will remain to face a glum future.
The thing with tenacity as a Filipino value must have its limits. I guess it is by this reason that we continue to endure our hard life because we remain hopeful that things can be better. But, mindless to say, that we can only change our future if we take a stand against the present setting and say “enough is enough, we endure no more.”
I am pessimistic all right, but leaders can’t do much unless their constituents take a proactive and participate role in nation’s reformation. This election then shall contribute less or much to how and where this country lead to.

The Young Teachers vs the Seasoned Ones
But, it is never relative that only the seasoned ones get the passion and wits for teaching and this is also true for the young ones. I guess, this goes to say that motivations and experience play major criteria before a teacher can really be said young or seasoned. Of course, after years of teaching, a teacher may have mastered the craft but it does not follow if the students have indeed learned from them or enjoyed their teaching styles. I know academics is supposed to be dead serious but I quite believe too that learning can be self – motivating once teachers are really that good and this does not come with age at all.
Teaching is pretty tough that one can see more aging lines or wrinkles on teachers than most professionals. Geez!!!! I can already see the scary aging lines on my face. How I wish I have aging creams like anti wrinkle eye cream to at least hide the aging flaws.
Teaching is for everyone but not all teachers share the same level or extent of commitment. Only the students and other stakeholders can judge.
Getting Rested From Teaching Hassles
When I was teaching, I could only get six hours of sleep every day as I hurdle through lessons after lessons while I do my other tasks. I even had endless reasons to miss my running shoes as I was too sleepy to get up at day break and jog.
Now, I am back to my morning regimen of daily jogs and taebos and quite rested from 8 – hour sleep since I have to wake up at 5 to start my jogs early.
I only hope that summer vacation shall be enough to get me recharged for the next school semester. Until then, I can only enjoy my time off. LOL!
No School, No Pay
Although, I have my business to work with and blogging along the side, I have to ask how other teachers endure their vacation without pay. I can be optimistic when I say that they pretty have saved much for this time but for others who lack in this area, can only whine in pain.
Teaching is indeed a difficult task that I hope schools can be generous with their faculty but I quite know too that operational costs like salary can be detrimental when there are no students enrolled or when company resources are not enough to sustain the scheme. It is never surprising to note that most teachers in the Philippines dawdle in debts and remain there in a long time. Now, I believe why my old pop said that there is no money in teaching. I guess, I must consider a new job now. LOL! But, I am simply committed to teach and this must be the basic reason too while other stay in this job in spite of mediocre salary.

Student – Teacher Relationship, Romantically Viable?
It is against ethics of professional teachers to involve ourselves to any romantic or sexual relationship with students when the latter supposed to consider us their second parents while they are away from home, literally or not.
But, it is quite a reality too that some teachers do get involved with their students when the young ones are on their sweetest and cajoling moods. Although, I have my own fair share of being flirted with, it is simply a no-no for me to even start a romantic relationship at least. Geez!!!! Although, when I was younger, this idea seemed ok. LOL!
So, I pretty not blame if students for teachers (when they do their hero worship, flirts or not) or vice versa. I can only see who favors who during occasions when students and teachers give one another gifts like flowers, stuffed toys, wholesale diamonds, bags or clothing. School is only small place with limited options for any chance of next – level relationship.
But, what is more hideous is the fact that sexual harassment is taking its toll too when teachers use their authority on grades to abuse the young ones. These kind of professors should not lurk behind teachers’ tables and pretend that they are God or something to demand anything. I guess they can all go to hell and screw their guts!!!! LOL!

Kin on Healthcare Education
However, in the recent Philippine news, the nursing graduates are down by 20% because a number is also unemployed. I would not say that jobs are sparse or something but since nursing requires higher mental skill among other things, I have to say some graduates are unemployed because they don’t meet desired qualifications fit for competitive and competent healthcare workers. This opinion can be quite alarming but this is never remote from reality.
I only hope that the education system in the Philippines will improve not only health programs but all courses and all levels since it will be pointless to have earned a diploma but not having a job at all.
Parttime or Fulltime Teaching?
Before our second semester was done, we were gathered into a meeting to discuss clearances, summer loads and prerequisites for next semester’s job.
I had done what was left to do for second semester but my supervisor had to ask me if I would welcome a fulltime teaching next semester. I had seen the evaluations on my performance through my heads and students and I did pretty well. I am already excited to see my students come June but I could not give up the time needed to attend to our store. So, I only asked my boss for a parttime work if it is possible. I have to do the needed requirements soon and submit them to our college dean. I only hope I can find time to finish what I must do. Reading a novel consumes much of my time though. LOL!

Gimmicks for School Buddies
My younger sibling however, is on out – of - town travel to our other sibling to complement house help with recreation. She has a bundle of movies on hand plus endless SMS with her school buddies and friends left behind. Pretty sure, other students are also having fun time have their vacations elsewhere.
Regardless of how students consume their summer offs, I guess this time – off shall be a good way to recharge them for another dreading semester of schooling again come June. I can’t wait to see my own students once summer is done and catch up with their summer escapades.

Pleasures/Distresses of Being a Student
I quite remember well that I used to make use of summer vacation for summer classes even though these subjects were not really compelled. I simply opted to use the time on subjects that could be more dragging and boring when they were to be taken during semester schedules. These meant my endurance would only be curbed for a short time. LOL! But, apart from this reason, I used the summer classes not to be at home for most of the time plus the allowances that went with schooling! I guess my schooling then, was not at all distinct from other students. LOL!
When you are a teenager, the time seems better spent with friends on gimmicks or something more productive than being spent at home with your folks or siblings. You can also be adventurous with practically anything. Being young seems to give an excuse for anything. Yikes!
But, once you age, to be reckless and stupid seem to be unforgivable when you are perceived to be wiser and all although this is not always the case for other adults.
I guess in spite of old age or not, it is reenergizing to act and feel young altogether. LOL! I simply miss the old days.

Technology – Aided Instruction
With technology, conventional processes seem easier than the good old days. For one, I don’t have to labor much in writing when I can have my notebook and projector all hooked up before our white board or classroom wall.
Unfortunately, not all schools or teachers for that matter have access to any technology for assisted teaching.
However, if it is permitted, teaching can be lighter if we make use of other learning materials. Sometimes, I have to use my blogs and group accounts to upload my resources and notes so, students can have free access and for me not to waste time, rewriting them.
I am quite sure, there are appropriate software just for any subject out there. If schools only have resources, they can make learning and teaching more fun and easy.

School Vacation!!!!
But, my pop will also leave and we will follow next month. We are pretty excited to join my sister especially during her birthday in May. She did ask us if we can join her in Puerto Galera and we simply look forward to that. Since, almost everyone else will be leaving for a vacation, we will be needing travel bags. I wish to buy Kipling travel bag to replace my hiker's bag to fit in all that I should bring with me.
For now, the hiker's back pack will do and I can scout for my kid's bag for his stuffs. We have to travel light to make the trip less inconvenient considering I have my kid with me to tag along.
It is always fun to have a vacation with loved ones. Happy vacation dear students and teachers!
Meeting Students on Social Networks
And, although I don't my students' and colleagues' numbers, I get to chat and hung out with them through the network and still fool around with almost anything under the sun.
Gosh! I quite miss my students and after reading their feedbacks on my last semester's teaching, I know they share my fun of spending time with them albeit not everyone enjoyed my teaching style. LOL! We can't simply please everyone but we still do our best and enjoy what we love to do.
Come first semester, I shall soon see them and have the time of my life again with them. Until then, Facebook shall suffice.

PCOS Election Machine 101
We are now 27 days before the Philippine 2010 Election and this election shall make quite a history since it will be the first time that the election shall make use advance technology for casting and counting of votes nationwide.
Although, this has been long overdue as some politicians made use of the conventional election process to advance their personal interests, thereby, causing a number of election fraud and glitches. But, needless to say, this technology may promise accuracy but it can't be 100% fraud - proof since cheating can still be imposed through flying voters who have multiple registration in several areas. Even the dead are still registered. So, this technology may be promising but unless COMELEC can really impose strict cheat - proof system, the technology can do little.
Further, the cheating politicians can still have their ways when voters choose to sell their votes in behalf of these low - life candidates.
We may be making history but this can be pointless if we keep on becoming ignorant and passive voters.
But, I will remain hopeful, this PCOS machine can speed up the counting and shall bring results faster than the old ways. Voters would just have to prepare their outlines for easy selection and follow instruction as to how to fill in the spaces for their choices otherwise their votes will not be counted.
The PCOS machines shall be distributed to different precincts nationwide at least a week before May 10, 2010. The COMELEC has been doing their Election Education to at least orient the voters how to do the voting come election day.

The Price of Knowing
With the onset of digital technology, countless innovations like cellphones, routers, modems, cards, notebooks and alike seem to sprout multifold. But, with these necessities come also endless bills and since one works to earn a living and pay the bills, paychecks seem too meager for everything else.
Consequently, as a sensible individual, one can only be informed of other product or service provider to get the best deals.
For instance, a cellphone is a basic commodity for almost everyone but this gadget is quite useless without the needed features of call and SMS among other things. Thus, it is only logical that cell phone plans or prepaid services are acquired. But, once monthly bills reach one’s doorsteps, it is inevitable that he can get cranky with the pressing amount due for payment.
Some financial analysts suggest that lifestyles should be within anyone’s means and that debts must be responsibly handles to avoid paying gigantic interest and long – running balances. Thus, one can only be wiser to consider advices to maximize savings by incurring less from regular expenses like credit cards, cellphone plans, gas usage, cable services or Internet connectivity.
If one is only persistent, he can check experts tips on saving more from spending less through acquiring the most efficient bills like cheapest cell phone plans to start with.
Knowing different service providers and their plans can be an effective basis to evaluate if these plans are really suitable for one’s unique needs otherwise one can seek other service provider to get the worth of one’s money or more importantly, to pay less.
For instance, there are companies who provide freebies, prompt and effective technical support or upgrades for less or free like Verizon Wireless coupons as incentives for being a subscriber. If a certain service provides more at greater costs but one only needs less, it can be more efficient to consider this alternative. In the long run, aggregating those little saved pennies can tantamount to greater amount. Now, this is one practical and wisest budgeting tactic anyone can use.
Politics Among the Filipino Youth
But, just like the contention of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, "the youth is the future of this nature," I can only agree but with environment, technology, education among other things, the youth seemed to prove an important role in shaping the direction of politics and this nation as a whole. It is a global knowledge that my country is way popular in creative corruption and I have been telling it among students that it will take more than one person to shape this country around and really be concerned with real issues that this country will again rise above its present realm.
This upcoming election may or may not spell any significant difference unless we really both for leaders who are chosen for their platforms and track records. However, even experts say our society is divided by ignorance and haughtiness that we seem to remember and place people on public service based solely on their charm, political families, wealth and guns to name a few.
It may be still be a long run for this country until it can really see light and hope to see change take its toll but the young ones who are now more participative and knowledgeable can contribute to shaping this ill and traditional politics around.
It is only my longing that every one will be wiser in choosing their leaders otherwise the history shall only have its replay and we remain in sentiments of pressing poverty and helplessness. It is only when people power really takes it lead that election shall be the turning point for every Filipino.
Summer Courses for Young Ones!
I wish to improve my programming skills in Java and PHP but I simply have too limited time on my hand as I juggle store management, blogging and family affairs.
There are schools that offer short courses and programs on cooking, music, swimming, physical sports and alike where those who have free time can willingly enroll themselves. I wish to learn cosmetology and baking for me to at least, maximize these skills once I expand the family business. These and other equipment like hand dryers shall be among the basic necessities that I will soon acquire. My kid and nephew at home will be soon enrolled in swimming once I get the registration details.
We can always choose to be idle or productive. In my case, I just prefer the former option.

Learning and Teaching More Easily
Studies show that there indeed different learning styles. Some students may prefer to study while music is beating loudly while others comprehend more if pictures are integrated. Thus, when a teacher imparts his lessons in a traditional way, it is not surprising, if not all students have understood everything.
Regardless of the teaching styles, teachers do give assessments through written or oral exams to evaluate the students’ learning and to solicit feedbacks from the scores acquired. Thus, these exams play an important role and must be taken seriously.
There are different forms of quizzes or assessments; these include multiple choice, matching type, true or false, short answers, essays among others. But, it has to be noted that badly written exams and directions can also affect the score performance of students who take the test. Thus, teachers must be well trained on preparing appropriate questions through appropriate assessment types.
Further, the medium by which exam is delivered plays also a significant difference in getting better scores. There are studies that had been conducted to evaluate in-class assessment against online tests, and results reveal that students who take online exams through test software do better than the traditional medium.
Through different free or paid test software, the benefits can outweigh any software cost or resources. Best of all, any subject can use these online tests like grammar quizzes using any of the exam type.
Teaching is a difficult job but we can always use technology to make it lighter and more rewarding.

Learning New IT Skills
Now that classes are done, I have nothing else to do this summer except manning the store, reading literature books, watching movies, blogging and wandering at the malls.
Since I have two months of vacation, I simply have a lot of time on my hand. However, I wish to make use of my time more worthwhile by learning how to make a website for our store at least. And since, I am into blogging but new to Wordpress, I wish to learn more about this. I could not really master this site not because I'm ignorant about it but because I just never had time to learn and explore it.
And like what I have been telling my students, they should not stop from acquiring and/or upgrading their IT skills because technology is fast paced, we can only cope with it and respond to what environment demands. We can only be both reactive and proactive with technology and environment as a whole.

Challenging Student Life
I have spent half of my life in school either studying or teaching. Thus, I am quite aware of the hurdles a student has to go through putting up projects, exams and never – ending write ups. I quite love to read all sorts of books since whenever I have the time, I would rather use it on any bound books or journals than wander around with friend. Thus, it is easier for me to write almost anything.
However, writing is a skill that is practically not common to all students. As a teacher, I have to squint my eyes just to get the gist of whatever essay or write ups my students have to submit. And, most of the time, I can only read poorly written stuffs.
I am quite positive that if time are only sufficient and writing skills are only honed up, students can honestly work on their own, but with so many subjects within limited time, requirements can just pile up. Thus, help can only be preferred. School is good and fun but it can be quite difficult for some. This I can guarantee.

Graduation for Us
Every school year concludes with a graduation ceremony for the seniors and for my school, STI Gensan, we will have it tomorrow.
I have to however, prepare my academic gown for the event since all teachers are required to be there. It shall be one long afternoon and since I don't know any of the seniors, it will be a dragging day for me.
But, graduations are bittersweet times for us teachers. It is nice to see that your students have earned their keep and that they will be ready to face the world at least, with a hopeful heart. But, graduations can be sad times too especially, if you have bonded already with the youngsters. Most of my teaching years, I find it saddening to see my students graduate but more than this feeling is the pride that they are ready to fend off for themselves.
I just have to bring my music player and old book just in case, we wont start on time. Congrats anyway to all graduates and their parents.

Meeting Students Again
It has been since two weeks now since classes are officially off and after I submitted all the requirements for clearance, I spent most of my days at our store.
One student of mine left a message at my Facebook account thanking me of my time with them and wishing I can still be with them next school year. I found that quite sweet.
So, when we were asked to report to school today to turn in our graded class cards to the students themselves, I was only happier to chat a little with them.
Some of them only thanked me for a passing mark although it was because of their performance that they earned the grade. However, I had to meet one failed student and after asking me to reconsider, I could only give my disapproving nod. That's the bad thing about being a teacher, failing marks are simply unavoidable for poorly performing students.
But, it was one nice day today, meeting them again until classes start in June.
